trying to re-learn ENGLISH,
no thanks to previous administrations misguided
nationalistic linguistic policies,
now, our maldita presidentita,
as a way of sucking up to the royalty of Spain,
wants to re-introduce friggin' Spanish
to colleges and universities?!?!!?!?
Then President Cory Aquino
wisely got rid of that final remnant
of our colonial past back in 1987,
and now, President Glorious wants it back?
WTF por (que)?!?!?!
So that we can join
the Latin America Call Center industry?!?!
Maybe,
Macapal-Arroyo really wants to piss off the Aquinos?
Or maybe,
since she speaks the language fluently,
she plans to have her eventual exile in Sunny Spain?
Bueno.
Maybe a Spanish distillery can name a brand of brandy after her...

what's wrong with having spanish taught in schools? why not give kids an opportunity to learn & profit from speaking another language? it fits the historical culture and is the 3rd most widely spoken language in the world. it didn't have negative effects during the decades it was taught in schools. besides, you're to old to be affcted by any decision to include it in the schools curriculum anyway. migs
