Tender Loving CURRY!!!

For a long, long time,
back in the day when the Discovery Channel
was still on Home Cable,
this was my favorite show:

And my favorite globe trekking host was
JUSTINE,
the cutie from California by way of South Africa.

My favorite episode was her lonely trip to India,
where she had a meal in a dodgy cafeteria,
with the servers going around with pails (!)
filled with all the kaleidoscopic colorful spicy curries that
were endlessly ladled on her banana leaf plate.

I've long dreamt of exactly the same kind of experience,
and one of my priorities in Singapore
was to find exactly the same kind of restaurant.

And I did...

Welcome to SAMY'S!!!

In true turo-turo style,
all the authentic INDIAN goodies,
from nan bread to chicken tikka to mutton curry,
all there for the taking,
just point and shoot!

Many thanks to the awesome hosts
of this memorable episode of
Lonely Planet: Singapore:
Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel and Noelle Chua,

and Samy,
who really cares for the curry that he carries!

That curry looks delicious on those banana leaves. Was it spicy? o they have different curries or just the red kind?

ruy,

spicy, super!

all the curries representing ROY G. BIV were accounted for.

the ice-cold lime juice we had was a perfect accompaniment to the hot meal!
