The RIGHTEOUS Brothers
Michael Mann's HEAT
was the first onscreen pairing
of two of the greatest actors ever,
The Godfather's Father and Son CORLEONE,
ROBERT DE NIRO and AL PACINO.
And while that film
had that L.A. Bank Robbery Escape scene,
one of the best action sequences in movie history,
many fans were left wanting
because the two paisans actually acted together
in only a single brief scene in a coffeeshop,
very much like this one:
Understandable,
because De Niro and Pacino were
protagonist and antagonist in HEAT.
Thankfully,
we get another chance to see these two greats
together, this time, on the same side of the law:
Robert and Al play buddies this time around,
two cops on the trail of a poetic serial killer
who's lost that lovin' feeling.
RIGHTEOUS KILL opens in Summer 2008.
Definitely a movie offer we can't refuse.

Those two names look good individually in any movie. But together? That's a moment of rapture.
However, I wish they'd done it a bit earlier. Before the image of them pointing guns became a tug of war for attention between the story and their aged, wrinkled hands.
Oh well, better late than never again.=)
ruy,
i can see it now...
all Squinting from De Niro
and
all Barking from Pacino.
hahaha!
but syet, i'd line up on the 1st day of showing, dude!
