YOU CAN DO A BETTER JOB... NOW PROVE IT!!!

CONTRIBUTE HERE:

Task 1: The Logo + Tagline

Let's start small.

We don't want to do a full campaign (yet).
So what if we made a logo and tagline?

Okay, here we go:

THE LOGO
If there was one symbol that we needed
to use to tell people how beautiful the Philippines is,
what would it be?

THE TAGLINE
Along with the logo, what do we want to say?

GUIDELINES:
Digital or analog, color, Black and white,
photorealistic, etc.
At this point, we're looking for awesome ideas.

You can do a kickass comp on Photoshop
or even draw on a paper napkin.
Just get it to us via Facebook.

1) First, you have to "Like" us.
http://www.facebook.com/DOT.DIY

2) Get your creative brain a-crackin'!
3) If you drew something, scan or take a picture.
4) Upload it to Facebook.
5) TAG us so we see it or post it on our Photo page or our Wall.

TIMELINES:

In typical agency fashion, we wanted it yesterday.

But since we're playing on your sense of patriotism,
you have a week.

By our calendar, it's Wednesday, 17 November 2010.
That gives you until Wednesday, 24 November 2010.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THIS?

This is not a contest.
DOT needs a new logo + tagline.

So we're gonna collate everything into a .PDF,
print it and send it directly to the Department of Tourism.

Yes, we will e-mail AND deliver it.

BTW, we'll send you the .PDF of the collated work as well.
So do please give us your e-mail address.
We promise not to spam you with useless crap.

So there you have it.

We got what we wanted.
Now it's time to Think. Do. Share.

- The D.I.Y. Team

OR CONTRIBUTE HERE:

Send an email to eamacayayong@tourism.gov.ph
and express your desire to volunteer.
She will then give you the URL of the interim website.

Tell her (via email) the page you'd like to work on.

Submit a write-up
(either as rewrite of existing one or an entirely new one)
and/or a captioned photo.

We will put your name as a contributor,
both to give credit and assign accountability.

Of course, we will exercise editorial control
throughout the whole process.

This content will not only be used in the interim website
but also in the full-featured website.

Think of it as the wiki-approach to building our tourism website.

BTW, put on the subject:
"I WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER TO PROJECT DOT WIKI-WEBSITE"

P.S.

Sec. Bertie Lim and USec. Enteng Romano
Department of Tourism

Gentlemen:

We criticize you because we expect so much more;

we are vocal because we know you'll listen...

wasn't PNoy's administration supposed to be
markedly different from GMA's?

But your recent official statements
seem full of subterfuge and doublespeak.

Please don't fall into the "dedma/denial" trap
that afflicted officials from the previous administration.

We can move on, and should move on from this,
but first, someone has to admit culpability.

Otherwise, we're back to the time of Neri, et al.,
and both of you will be just like the previous
administration's officials that you
yourselves used to criticize.

Let's not go full circle.

Not this soon.

Not ever.

Please.
