Why We BLOG

CONGRATULATIONS,
MANY THANKS,
and MUCH LOVE

to all the PINOYS
who blogged, spammed, e-mailed, instant messaged,
and practically excoriated themselves
hammering their keyboards defending their OFW kabayans

from the abusive, insensitive, careless words
of one just-resigned Malu Fernandez.

Together,
we've proven that we can be a force to be reckoned with.

And contrary to what she may be thinking right now,
the fight was less about Hate for Malu and her words,
but more about Love for the Philippines and her people
.

MABUHAY ANG PILIPINAS!!!

Many people have asked me why I blog:
Ego?
Chutzpah?
My 15 Minutes of Fame?

and even one:
Because I'm lonely? (huh?)

Bottom line is,
I blog because I'm so damn
PROUD to be a FILIPINO.

Through this medium,
I'm able to reach my countrymen all over the world,
and many other citizens from dozens of other countries,

and remind them,
on a daily basis,

that yes,
despite the seeming insanity inherent in our society,

OUR PHILIPPINES
is still the best damn country on earth,

and that

WE FILIPINOS
are simply, the best.

Do you get it now, Malu?

Well, alls well that ends well. She may have had those insensitive remarks, but I must say- that she should have been edited by People Asia. It's the editors fault- the article went through without a hitch. Oh well Malu- this is a hard pill to swallow. But we all do have lessons to learn. WHoever the editor of People Asia is... well... your free... for now...

And wow, Spanky, I admire you for loving your country so much. Maybe you should run for president. People will vote for such a passionate countryman. Pogi pa. (Hey I'm not his friend... so he didn't pay me to say such. I'm some random Filipino who googled Malu F and was lead here).

K, enough said. Thanks Malu- for exciting our lives. Haha. And thanks Spanx, for loving our country.

thanks for defending the OFW's...actually my husband works in Dubai,so when i heard about this news i got curious..and when i read her article i cried so much...how i wish that MALU feels our pain...as a mother of two young little boys, its so hard to explain to them kung bakit malayo father nila...all they know everytime he calls its already payday...that their father sends money already ,so they can eat already to their favorite food chain and buy their toys...but after that, still their questions left unanswered...how i wish i can tell them and understand that the reason why their father is away from us...just to give them a good education, sends them to a nice school, eat more than 3 times a day,and most of all save for their future.Lets face the reality that if you work in our country,,its only a hand to mouth...but if you SACRIFICE and be away from your family lucky enough to have at least SAVINGS but of course the PRICE is the LONELINESS..
