Leyte Gov. Carlos Jericho Petilla
pulled out of the administration's senatorial slate Friday
as he had chosen instead to seek re-election in his home province,
ABS-CBN News reported.

The report said actor Cesar Montano was chosen by the Lakas party
and Team Unity to replace him.

Tourism Secretary Joseph Ace Durano, Team Unity spokesman,
said Montano was chosen by the coalition
because the actor is a member of Lakas [party] and he is known in the Visayas.
