JACK n JILL : The ADULT Version
For generations of Filipino children,
this was a grade school canteen staple:
this was a grade school canteen staple:
Jack n Jill Chocolate Pretzels are still around,
and yes, they still taste exactly the same,
(albeit, they do seem slightly shorter now)
But now that we've become busy, jaded adults
with more sophisticated palates, somehow,
that childhood thrill of ripping into that red box,
and getting our fingers all gooey with chocolate,
just might have dissipated a little...
well, why not bring back the MAGIC?
I picked up a half-gallon of this
DARK CHOCOLATE ice cream,
and forget about Tillamook and Häagen-Dazs,
ARCE's is, far and away, bar none, absolutely,
the best chocolate ice cream you can buy in the Philippines.
It's so darkly, sinfully sweet,
so decadently, intensely chocolatey,
it should rightfully be called
CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE ice cream!!!
As I slowly savored every spoonful
of this Dark Chocolate nirvana,
I realized that the best way to complement
the extreme richness of its creamy goodness
was to mix it up with a crunchy, semi-salty snack;
luckily, I had some of the best pretzels in the world:
ABRACADABRA!!!
Our favorite childhood snack,
All Grown Up,
and still as addicting!!!
(I've had three bowls already this evening!)

Spanx, Rustan's and the Tinder Box here in Cebu no longer carries Arce Dairy Ice Cream! It really sucks! We love Arce especially when we use those Belgian cones for it!
