PINAY IDOL!!!
Although she seemed to lose her confidence by the Top 9,
no thanks to a succession of horrible song selections,
the subsequent tough love verbal beatings from Simon,
a really bad cold, a Bratz wardrobe, and finally, though
she couldn't survive the inescapable corniness of country music,
Ramiele will forever be my Pinay Idol...
how can you not love a girl who has a Philippine Flag
proudly displayed in her bedroom?
And I'm pretty sure that one day soon,
we'll see her pop up, pixie-like,
in the new Philippine incarnation of the IDOL franchise:
Speaking of which,
Freemantle Media has allowed GMA-7
to erase all traces of ABC-5's Philippine Idol:
the winner, Mau Marcelo;
the host, Ryan Agoncillo;
the judges, the legendary Pilita Corrales,
rapper Francis M (no big loss, he was a generic judge),
and as usual,
the "me too!" numbnuts at the Kapuso Network
started off on the wrong foot by not retaining as a judge,
the greatest living Filipino musician, Ryan Cayabyab.
Instead, The Maestro will be the "Headmaster" of the 2nd Season
of ABS-CBN's own reality music competition franchise,
Pinoy Dream Academy; ironically, the very same show
that pummelled the original Philippine Idol in the ratings;
I suspect history just might repeat itself.
But this time, Ryan Cayabyab may silence his former show.
PDA II starts up in May 2008, and will go head-to-head
with Pinoy Idol, which premieres this Saturday, April 5:

Jolina?! Ogie?! Wynguard? Eh di sana si Douglas Quijano nalang?! hahaha...
sayang, they really should have tried harder to get ryan cayabyab. i think he might have stayed if the price was right.
