All We Are Saying Is...
Mano a' Mano:
At least twice a year,
my best friend of over two decades,
Dr. Honrado "HonHon" Palugod,
is granted a visa by his wife
for a one-on-one caucus,
a man-to-man primary if you will,
wherein we discuss the state of the nation,
the virtues of visiting Vietnam,
the future of healthcare,
and
the status of my lovelife.
Armed with nothing more than
our healthy appetites and a bottle of whisky,
we usually begin by
10:00 p.m.
This year,
we went back to an institution in Binondo,
a family favorite passed on from our grandparents,
the panciteria formerly known as
PEACE,
where we had our favorites:
LEMON PORK!!!
SWAHE!!!
WANSUY!!!
and to paraphrase Cormac McCarthy:
No Corkage for Old Scotch!
1:00 a.m.,
and we have emptied 2/3 of the Chivas Regal,
the restaurant is almost empty
and our peaceful discussions and inebriation
have come to a most satisfactory gustatory conclusion:
Peace, Man!
Lennon, NOT Lenin!!!

That resto is always crowded whenever we would go. We were able to get in there once for a dimsum fest. To our dismay, they ran out of the dimsums and dumplings that we ordered. From the 9 items, we only had 4. But we were happy because it was still great. Can't wait to head back and have a feast. :D
