SKYCABLE ka ng ina mo!!!!

WHADAF*CK?!?!?!

We only have 'til December 31, 2007
to enjoy our favorite SOLAR channels?!?!

It's been confirmed that the greedy corporate idiots at SkyCable
once again will punish us loyal subscribers by
REMOVING ALL SOLAR CHANNELS on New Year's Day 2008.

No more NBA on BTV!

No more UFC on Solar Sports!

No more Conan and Leno on ETC!

No more Letterman on Jack TV!

No more Prison Break on Crime/Suspense!

No more Ellen on 2nd Avenue!

And they will expect me to pay P983.00 a month for nothing?!?!

I MOVE THAT WE ALL TRANSFER to

DESTINY or DREAM

RIGHT NOW!!!

So what happened?

Here's the skinny from my "deep throat" in the industry,
Mr. Body Lover:

"The inside story here is that Sky Cable
wanted to put in their own channels Velvet and Maxx.

In the process,
they informed Solar that they were going to drop ETC and Jack TV
since the new channels were going to have similar programming.

Solar responded by pulling out all their channels
as they probably felt they were being bullied."

And here's an update from our true friends at SOLAR,
which inadvertently rubs salt on the wounds
caused by the Skycable bastards:

Greetings from Solar Entertainment Corporation!

We would like to provide everyone with updates
on recent developments in the area of programming,
such as key acquisitions, telecast policy and business initiatives.

Aside from having the rights to ALL Manny Pacquiao fights
and the NBA games,

we also continue to have exclusive rights
to many of the best properties for our
sports and entertainment channels.

Moving toward the last quarter of 2007 and into the New Year,
We are happy to announce the following:

1. Solar has entered into agreement
with the International Olympics Committee (IOC)
covering all Exclusive Broadcast Rights
including Free TV, Basic Cable, satellite, mobile television,
pay television, closed-circuit television
and internet television for the following:

* 2008 Beijing Olympic Games
* 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games
* 2012 London Olympic Games

Next year, 8/08/08,
Solar will be bringing to the Philippines
an unprecedented number of hours of various Olympic sports
through Pay Per View, Closed Circuit, RPN, Solar Sports,
Basketball TV, ETC and 2nd Avenue from Beijing.

In addition,
Solar will be sending its production crew to Beijing
to cover the participation of the Philippines at the Games.

2. To continue our ability to deliver to our valued clients
the most current entertainment programming,
Solar has secured multi-year volume deals
with major studios and production companies
including the following:

* NBC-Universal Television
* Warner Brothers International Television
* Fox Television
* CBS-Paramount

The deals give Solar first choice of selection
over all new products and properties from the studios
and provide our cable affiliates the assurance that
all hit series such as 24, Heroes
plus the new series from the 2007 production slate
will exclusively have its premieres and first telecast window
on Solar Channels over our competition.

Renewed hit series for the season are the following:

* Bones
* 24
* Shark
* Prison Break
* My Name is Earl
* America's Next Top Model
* Project Runway
* Saturday Night Live
* One Tree Hill
* Without A Trace
* Cold Case
* The Closer
* Men in Trees
* Hell's Kitchen
* Extreme Makeover Home Edition
* Beauty And The Geek
* Law and Order SVU
* Nip Tuck
* The Simpsons
* Family Guy
* Survivor: China
* America's Got Talent.

Recently acquired for telecast
over next few months are the following:

* The Sopranos
* Entourage
* My Boys
* The Tudors

And from the new television season in the U.S.,
the new series we have acquired are the ff:

* Bionic Woman
* The Sarah Connor Chronicles
* Pushing Daisies
* Chuck
* Big Bang Theory
* Alien In America
* Journeyman
* New Amsterdam
* Big Shots
* Burn Notice
* Moonlight

3. The most exciting news for all our clients and agencies
which we would like to share with you,
coinciding with the start of the new Fall Season
this October, 2007, in the United States,

Solar will be scheduling series such as
Heroes, 24, Prison Break, Sarah Connors Chronicles and Bionic Woman,
on a day and date basis with the US telecast schedule.

This means,
instead of waiting for the inevitable delay due to tape shipment
and to counter the illegal downloading of content on the internet,
cable viewers can now watch these series
at the same time
as the American viewers.

This dramatic scheduling innovation will surely
add more value to their viewing experiences.

Of course,
the current world class sports properties
will continue including the FIBA games, U.S. NCAA,
Collegiate Champions League, PBL games, French Open Tennis,
Ultimate Fighting Championship, Bundes Liga, La Liga,
the NFL and PGA Golf Tour.

And for those of you who will continue to subscribe to SKYCABLE,
here's the garbage that they will try to shove down your throats:

Seems they're at it again. What can I say? Skycable is pretty consistent when it comes to decisions re the bottom line. That's why as soon as the Skycable exclusivity contract was up in our area, it was Destiny for me. It's cheaper too at Php 450 a month

Dream does not have Jack or Crime/Suspense , nor does it have Disney anymore
and charges 890 for only a few channels.

Destiny is available only in limited areas, and has no Star channels.

this is just a big disaster.

i live in north caloocan and we have pilipino/sun/sky cable. i've been wanting to ditch my account for the longest time but nothing else is offered in our area. destiny hasn't come our way yet and dream doesn't have jack and crime/suspense, and i would willingly change cable providers in a snap if solar can give me a good alternative.

i guess you have skycable silver though you have the digibox, which means you have the digital signal which is clearer than the analog signal. damn, we pay 1100+ and we do have a box but its the analog one. we need it for the premium channels that we have and its only for 1 TV.

ei, i've read in another forum that all Solar's channels are now exclusive to Destiny Cable. if true, it may take a while for Solar's channels to be back on SkyCable.

looks like solar is going to be exclusive in destiny for 3-4 years.
pull out of solar from skycable might be earlier than expected. it seems as though solar is trying to pull out by october, before the nba season starts.

WTF.

I am honestly contemplating switching to Destiny.

Solar Channels have always been more up-to-date than other premium channels like Star World so this is really a let-down. You said they're already planning on getting Chuck, Bionic Woman, and The Big Bang Theory? Those shows are barely a season old! Star didn't get going with Heroes until the second season was well underway.

Other cable providers should take the Sky cancellation as a golden opportunity. Balls and Velvet are very subpar replacements. I don't want to know who's straight or gay and I don't give a rat's ass who wants to be a Hilton. ETC already saturated the reality TV circuit and JackTV is the only channel watchable for hours on end.

The only upside about this mess is it gives me more time to hit the books. Ughh..

Skycable ka ng ina mo indeed.

Goodnews for skycable subs:

Solar will make etc,etc2nd ave,C/s available to free tv, etc&etc2nd ave are i think on test broadcast with rjtv while c/s will be carried by RPN9 i just cannot confirm if this will be on a 24/7 basis or primetime slots only, remain to be seen nxtyr the only channel among solar who wont be available to free tv is jacktv and basketball tv though channel 5 will broadcast live nba games but i think its not daily compare to btv and aswell as the solarsports channel w/c air nfl and other variety sports. atleast your guys from sky will still have a glimpse on this solar channels

don't worry. once skycable goes bankrupt this year (which will surely happen due to the stupid channel lineup change), destiny cable or some other cable provider will buyout skycable then we'll have the old channels back.

sarap mangarap.

i just realized na star world is going to air shows like Bionic Woman...however, dahil sa exclusivity rights(Solar got this advantage), palaging delay ang pagpapalabas ng mga shows (such as Heroes)sa philippine feed ng star world. some viewers in the provinces are lucky to catch a particular show "in advance" (ex. Heroes) via the SEA feed ng Star World...and dahil dun, parang unfair na rin dahil sa hindi balanced ang programming.....

Hey Spanx! Here in Cebu City, We envy our neighbors Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu cities because they have destiny cable! Our city council even had an emergency session regarding on breaking the Sky Cable monopoly. And yes, the session worked, and Destiny will start it's Cebu City operation in Guadalupe where our Mayor resides!
