Mayor Lim LIGHTENS UP...

Remember these Marcos-era
Bagong Lipunan lights on Roxas Blvd.?

How I miss those simple, functional lamp posts,
more so now, in light of these garish new birthday candles
that Mayor Alfredo Lim installed to complement
(outshine?) the christmas balls that Mayor Lito Atienza put up:

I swear, all these odd too-colorful lights only
make Roxas Boulevard look like an "Anime Avenue".

Why can't the Manila Heritage officials campaign
to put up this kind of elegant lamp to underscore
the magnificent history of our boulevard by the bay?
