como esta USTed, ATENEO & LA SALLE?

THE UAAP HAS GONE GLOBAL......

a Serbian,
an Indonesian,
and a Bahraini.....

DLSU's "imports" for this season;
the player from Bahrain supposedly is half-Pinoy.

Ateneo has players with these surnames:
AL-HUSSAINI,
NKEMAKOLAM,

and taking the cue from Tony Parker of the Spurs,

a French monsieur: Zion Laterre;
and don't forget the coach, who's Black.

MANILA, Philippines—

The energy that were forced to bottle up for a year didn't take long to come out
and overwhelm their opponents.

The De La Salle University Green Archers marked their collegiate comeback

with an 82-61 rout of the University of the Philippines Maroons
at the start of the UAAP men's basketball tournament
yesterday at the Araneta Coliseum.

Wearing green jackets printed with the words,

"We're back. We're one,"
the Archers wasted no time in establishing their dominance of the Maroons.
Everything went well for the Archers even hours before the game
when the UAAP recognized the Filipino lineage of rookie Bader Malabes,
thus making him eligible to suit up for the Archers.

here's the latest on the alumni:

Most of the Ateneans in the professional ranks
figured in the one-game battle for third place
in the current import-laced PBA conference;
ironically, Carlo Sharma's improving performance allowed Red Bull
to get rid of malcontent Enrico Villanueva and ship him off to SMB.

Gec Chia is the designated 2nd string 3-point Specialist of Barangay Ginebra,
which means he gets a lot of splinters on his butt.

Red Bull 103 –
Penny 27, Baguio 18, Carlo Sharma 17, Najorda 11, Larry Fonacier 7,
Hrabak 6, Ybanez 4, Rich Alvarez 4, Cruz 4, Robinson 3, Paolo Bugia 2, Camaso 0.

Young 18, Espinas 15, Pena 13, Willy Wilson 12, Cablay 12,
Enrico Villaneva 11, Wesley Gonzales 5, Adriano 5, Olsen Racela 3 , LA Tenorio 2.

Meanwhile,

the LA SALLITES

(i refuse to dignify the term La Sallians, which was not what we called alumni
back when the DLS campus on Taft still had actual plant life and greenery)
are duking it out in the PBA Championships;

Mac-Mac Cardona is blossoming to be the breakout superstar

from among all his UAAP batchmates,
after averaging 30+ points a game during the semifinals,
and in the process, erasing his career-scoring high thrice..

Ren-Ren Ritualo is with the Philippine National Team

that's still hoping to play in Beijing 2008.
