ABSOLUT SUHA!!!

I'm a Vodka Man.

My dad, very early on, was a good influence in this regard.
He was a Smirnoff drinker,
back in the day when neither Absolut nor Stolichnaya
weren't readily available in your suking convenience store.

I recall that he used to get his weekly supply
from a sari-sari/smuggled liquor store (!) on Oroquieta St.,
the proprietor of which we baptized "Vic Vodka".

Sadly, like my dear old dad, that store's long been gone.
But their spirit lives on, as does the spirit of vodka .....

During my college days,
Stolichnaya Red was the vodka of choice.
Credit that to Kevin Costner swigging it coolly in "No Way Out".
I used to love going to Anthony's Liquor Store on Makati Ave.,
and walking straight to their chest freezer
to dig up ice-cold, frost-encrusted bottles of Stoli.

Vodka does NOT freeze.
Instead, when stored below zero, it turns into a viscous ooze,
that seductively slinks down your throat,
giving you the best kind of brain freeze ever!
A Shot of Siberia indeed.

In recent years,
ABSOLUT, with its innovative marketing campaigns,
has pushed Stoli to the back shelves.

Its plethora of flavors~~
from their 1st flavor, Peppar in 1986,
to the newest, Ruby Red launched in June of this year,
and in chronological order:
Citron '88, Kurant '92,
Mandrin '99, Vanilia '03,
Raspberi '04, Apeach '05~~
has led to many nights of Swedish Vodka Erotica.

I'm proud of having invented the Kurant-Welch's Shooter:
have two shot glasses ready;
pour ice cold Kurant into the 1st,
and Welch's Grape Juice in the 2nd.
Inhale both, one after the other. They smell exactly alike.
Shoot down the vodka,
then chase it down immediately with the juice.
Perfect Pair!

Using the same concept above,
my good friend Arvi suggested that we pair
the Grapefruit-flavored Absolut Ruby Red
with Zesto's Pomelo-flavored Frutzoda.

this time, we had the vodka on the rocks,
and chased down each gulp with a shot of the suha soda.

Again, it was Game, Serve, and ABSOLUT Match!!!
Like a hot blonde from Stockholm sunbathing on Samal Island,
this Swedish Suha Shooter is truly
a Smorgasbord of Sweet Seductions.
