MUST READ: The Italian Serial Killer who inspired HANNIBAL LECTER!!!
Meet the real life serial killer who slaughtered,
and I mean butchered, amorous Florentines
making out in their cars during the 1980s.
This non-fiction novel's killer is so brutal,
Thomas Harris was inspired to create his
Silence of the Lambs psychopath.
Now you know why the Lecter sequel,
HANNIBAL,
was partly set in Florence, Italy.

Thanks for this!! I'll grab a copy of this! :)
Actually Spanx- the Lecter character was already in book form (1981) well before Thomas Harris attended his trial . He was there to do research for the book Hannibal (third of the trilogy) .
His former occupation was a crime reporter and Lecter and some villans in the book were based on the real life people he reported.
I read four of his books.

Hi Spanx,
Thumbing through my videofiles tonight and watched about 15 minutes of Manhunter. Watched movie and read book (Red Dragon) several times before. Harris' second book and I think also the second movie based on his work. Movie was remade with Norton after Hannibal. Manhunter (1986) stars current CSI hotshot William Petersen and directed by then Miami Vice guy Michael Mann
