MORON, Bataan
MORONG, actually.
The MORONs are the Marcos Minions who built this white elephant,
and probably banked a mint in the process, from 1976 to 1984,
during the Nuclear Power Plant's construction period.
To make your eyes moist up,
it has not produced a single iota of energy,
not a single watt of electric power,
and it cost $2,3000,000,000 (that's 2.3 billion!).
To bring more tears to your eyes,
the Philippine Government is still paying
$155,000 Per Day
to cover the principal and the interest of this magnificent debacle.
It remains as our country's single biggest debt obligation.
And to make you bawl completely,
the experts who originally chose the site really royally f*cked up,
and thankfully, President Cory put a stop to this nonsense in '86,
because the Nuclear Power Plant is practically next door to...
MOUNT PINATUBO!!!
The reason for this meltdown about
one of the Philippines' greatest abortions?
I'm touring the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant tomorrow.
Might as well see what the #&$^@ we're still paying for!!!
Should be very interesting.

Ito ang pinaka walang kwentang proyekto sa kasaysayan ng Pilipinas! Second lang yung computerization ng ComElec! I do agree on the stuffs you wrote, Spanx!
Thank You, Tita Cory! she save us from what could be a double whammy!
That money is enough to subsidize rice for a looong time!
Better yet, it is more than enough to build most of the farm to market roads that this economy needs.
If the money will be used to build other types of power plants, the cost is about $1.5M/megawatt. That's a good number of plants to give us surplus power and cheap electricity.
correction: we're done paying for this gargantuan piece of crap. last year, if i'm not mistaken.
