a Korean bar straight out of My Sassy Girl

i found an excellent authentic Korean joint that really makes you feel that you wandered into the set of My Sassy Girl, Windstruck, or any Korean film that features a Soju Drinking Scene.

the place named TOK DO looks exactly like a provincial Korean house, all wood panelling, complete with the traditional cushions and low tables for cozy (if a bit uncomfortable) seating arrangements.

it's fully air-conditioned, and since it's a Korean restaurant, smoking is encouraged. San Miguel Beer and Soju drinking likewise is mandated.

needless to say, you can grill your BBQs right on your table, and appetizers are aplenty.

prices are very reasonable: beers at P45, soju at P180, and main dishes from P200 to P400.

it's pretty easy to find: from Quirino, take Mabini going towards Luneta; a couple of blocks before you reach Padre Faura, you'll see a 7-11 on your right, that's the cue to take a left on the one-way street that is R.Salas, which leads to the former Rosie's Diner/Blue Hawaii, which is located at the corner of R. Salas leading towards the PAL building on Roxas Blvd.

ample parking is available next to the "Good View" chinese restaurant across the street from Tok Do. right beside Tok Do is the classic Golden Ship restaurant, home of the best mid-east/mediterranean food in Malate (but that's a foodie story for another day).

good luck to all. hope you have a sassy date!!!
